HOW TO ATTRACT THE BEST CANDIDATES IN JUST A FEW MINUTES
Throughout the negotiation process, we see that it is important for the client to be able to present themselves, their brand and the position clearly and concisely to attract the candidate’s interest.
The employer elevator pitch is crucial. A company that neglects to present its brand, values, and position to a potential candidate loses out on the recruitment of valuable talent. An employee who helps the company grow is always in demand. Attracting them to the company and making them stand out from the competition is the aim of the employer’s elevator pitch.
What elements of an elevator pitch should be considered in order to attract a candidate?
- Build the Candidate’s Confidence. Make a first impression. A well-prepared elevator pitch is a demonstration of the professionalism of the employer and the respect they have for the candidate. The company values the candidate’s time and is willing to engage in constructive dialogue.
- Company Overview. A brief statement of mission, vision, and unique position in the industry. Key accomplishments, outstanding clients, and recent successes that demonstrate how the company continues to grow and impact.
- Value Proposition. A proposition that sets the company apart from the competitors and matches the career goals of the applicant. Emphasize opportunities for growth, training, and personal development.
- Key Areas of the Position. Particulars of the position for which the candidate applies. Key responsibilities, tasks, and opportunities for influence. Current or planned unique projects the candidate will be a part of. Area of responsibility and autonomy to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Tailor the pitch to the specific candidate. Aspects relevant to that candidate’s experience, skills and career aspirations. This personalization creates a stronger connection and demonstrates that the employer understands and knows the candidate’s needs.
- Authenticity & the Culture of the Company. The philosophy of the company culture, the specifics of working in your team. Unique benefits or schemes to retain employees.
- Call to Action. Finish the elevator pitch by asking the candidate to talk about themselves (candidate elevator pitch), ask questions, or provide any additional information needed to move the hiring process forward.
Employers have the best chance of attracting top talent to their team when they effectively present their brand, company values, and job opening in a concise and powerful way.
